E-ON Issue #016

Published 3rd July 2009

THE TECH BEST THING

With 30,000 jumps per day into w-space (according to the latest QEN), Tech 3 is being embraced by players the length and breadth of New Eden. In this latest E-ON we try to make sense of it all, first by explaining the hybrid production process, then by piecing together a few Tech 3 ships to see how they compare to their closest Tech 2 rivals. It's not all high-end stuff this issue though, as we also have a round-up of the various types of high-slot modules you can bolt onto your ship.

NICE GUY EDEN – WINTERBLINK PROFILED

Decidedly low-tech is a look back at the work of Warp Drive Active creator Winterblink, the maker of 200 cartoons, co-host to 50 podcasts and a writer of fiction, forum posts and various columns. He's pretty much been documenting EVE longer than anyone else, which is just as well as, by his own admission, his contributions in-game have been decidedly less note-worthy.

SOVEREIGNTY STATUS

While current sovereignty mechanics have given rise to large player empires and coalitions, the like of which have never existed, it has also contributed to a malaise regarding EVE's endgame, blighted as it is the setting up and breaking down of starbases. CCP is working on a long-term solution to revitalize sovereignty but, as we find out, it requires careful thought, not least when CCP's ‘10-year plan’ must also be taken into consideration.

This folded poster came FREE with every issue (while stocks lasted) but has now run out. It is, however, available to purchase separately as a rolled version on thicker stock.

E-on
This was my first Eon magazine, and it was worth every penny. It was very high quality, the pages, and everything. The ads to my pleasing where eve. there werent any 3 page ads, and the quality of this surpasses a normal magazine, the reports are better, less ads. I love it.
