Amarr Apocalypse Faction Model - EVE Battleship Collection

reviews

Description

Although much more unassuming and simple in appearance than it's more mass produced version, the Faction Edition Apocalypse is just as deadly as it's more shining and glorious counterpart. Originally only attainable by those in high favor with the Emperor, the Apocalypse has since become a mainstay of Amarrian fleets.

For fans and collectors alike

The EVE Online Battleship Models are constructed from a solid resin foundation and are mounted, ready for display, on a base emblazoned with the associated faction logo. The meticulous reproduction of EVE Online's ships is achieved through a combination of plastic detailing, cast metal components, and hand painted accents. The end result is a striking replica of the very ships soaring through space in New Eden.

Sometimes mistakes are meant to be
Alright so lets start with the bad, first I ordered the standard not the faction version. Obviously nothing against the artists/model for that but still should be mentioned.

And second, if you look at the model and the in game version they look......well very very different. I don't know if it's a left over design from an older graphics engine, or if the artist took some liberties with the model but if you're dying for an exact replica of the in game version you'll be disappointed.

That being said, I cannot be happier with the model. The details are incredible, and in fact I actually like the paint job on the model better than the in game version. The model itself weighs a ton, I was expecting some cheap pot metal model with some nice painted features. But instead what I got was an incredible very solid metal model that honestly would look great even without the paint.

Nice
Great model. Is it really worth the money? Maybe.

The model is awesome with lots of detail. It's a lot heavier than I first thought. Plus it's much larger that I first thought. I also comes in a nicely decorated box (good for collectors who want to keep it MIB)

The paint scheme is the old faction paint scheme and not the new one. The overall paint is great with the only exception being the lights and windows, which are nothing more than hand painted on dots of paint.

I would like to suggest making the marauder paint schemes as well.

Is it worth the price? I think so. Do I want to collect all the others? Yeah prolly. Do I have room for them? Prolly not. Will I wait till another big sale? Definitely!
